Digital Media
In Digital Media the aim is to inspire and challenge pupils to develop an understanding of the Digital Media industry and to express themselves and individual ideas through the creation of their own Digital Media Artefacts.
The skills and techniques required to work using a range of different software and mediums are taught. Digital Media enables pupils to operate at their own level whilst developing the confidence to experiment with a range of activities.
Pupils are also provided with theory elements to their lessons; helping understand the creative thought processes that accompany the practical nature of the subject.
Every pupil is given the opportunity to reach their potential through the development of their fine motor skills, concentration and self-expression.
The Key Stage 3 Digital Media curriculum introduces pupils to a range of practical and theory tasks which develop their knowledge of the subject and confidence using computers and computer software in a creative way. Pupils are supported to investigate and analyse existing digital products including poster and game design, 2D and 3D animation, comic design and then use this knowledge to create their own personalised work.
Key Stage 4 pupils will complete a BTEC Level 1 Introductory qualification that will build upon the skills developed in Key Stage 3.
